NUMBER PLACEMENT

At every race throughout the season riders ask, "where should I place my race number?"

The Washington State Bicycle Association says:
"Rider shall wear a minimum of 2 race numbers (1 jersey number AND 1 frame number)."

So, where should these numbers be placed?  Below are some examples showing both GOOD & BAD number placements.

Also, please DO NOT fold or cut your race numbers, especially frame numbers.  It is extremely difficult to see them. The bigger the number the easier it is for officials and cameras to see you!  Remember, if you're not in the results the officials didn't see you cross the finish line.

**For Time Trials, please DO NOT pin your number on your back.  When you're blowing by at 30+ mph the officials won't see your number.

Visit the following link showing why number placement is crucial.

GOOD NUMBER PLACEMENTS

THE BLOCKED RIDER SCENARIO
Many times a rider is blocked by another rider at the finish.
In this situation the blocked rider may not be given a place.
PLEASE - if you are blocked at the finish by another rider check-in with the finish line.  If you don't see your name on the results the officials did not see you cross the finish line.
